MakeAlias v1.0
Ever wished you could give selected users the ability to alias objects to other users without needing to also make them sub-admins? Now you can.
MakeAlias allows you to give the ability to let other users manage the aliasing of objects. While still keeping a degree of control. Options such as who a user can give aliases to, and what level of access to objects they have can all be controlled through the MakeAlis configuration file.
By default, the MakeAlias application looks at the top level of the Administrator desktop; meaning that anything seen by the admin can be accessed and aliased to other users. An optional configuration option allows you to specify a default starting path, on a user by user basis e.g. Tom is the sub-administrator and has access to the full admin desktop, while Brian is the head of Mathematics, and only has access to the schools Maths conference areas.
MakeAlias uses the Userbase application to populate the directory information. This not only allows for fast directory lookup, but also allows for a high degree of filtering by first and last name as well as privilege group membership. Another optional configuration option is to only allow a MakeAlias user to access members of privilege groups that they are also a member of.
