MakePGML v1.0
MakePGML (Privilege Group Mail Lists) is a simple application that allows you to automatically create a Global Mail List (GML) for each Privilege Group on your FirstClass Server. Everyone who is a member of the group will be added to the list - simple!
You can schedule how often you want the list to be built, either by specifying the number of minutes between list updates, or the number of times you want the list updated every 24 hours. You can also set a start time and stop time that the lists are updated between, so that you can stop list updates at important times of the day e.g. when trash collection is running, during backups etc.
You can re-use existing GML's so that settings such as privilege groups that can view the list, or list aliases, can be preserved. Comprehensive logging options mean you can log appropriate levels of detail - from the bare minimum to the full story!
You can specify Privilege Groups to exclude from the process - so that no GML is produced for them; or, specify only the lists that should have a GML produced - so that all other groups are skipped.
There is no database to install, and no forms to distribute. The MakePGML application is a server-side application (runs on the server, not the client). The application is configured using a configuration file(.ini) which is just a FirstClass Document. The application can be reconfigured at any time, and the changed settings will be loaded after the next list update.
Unregistered, the application will create GML's for up to three Privilege Groups. Registering the application removes the limit on this number.
Requirements
MakePGML requires:
- FirstClass Server version 7.0 or higher
- RAD 2.50 Build 2352 or higher
FirstClass Server version 7.1 is recommended.
FirstClass Server version 8.0 tested and supported.
